This is going on my UNOFFICIAL BIRTHDAY REGISTRY Pinterest board. Going from line drawing to vector in one step = sweet. Limited availability in the US (amazon). I read some reviews, this one was the best.

Cinemagr.am is a free app that takes your iPhone pics and makes them into animated gifs – and I just read that a version for Android is in the works (YAY!). Can’t wait!
I know it’s May, but this image was taken in upstate New York where winter weather lasts about 9 months, or so. Aren’t they so adorable in their cape and, little hat and coat? All those curls!! This image is by Mary Nichols (a photographer located in Syracuse, NY) and of my friend Chrissa’s kiddles (Abby and Adam). Thank you, Chrissa, for letting me post this and you chose an awesome photog!
My Dad (Joe Dishaw) is a craftsman/artisan. He make’s beautiful knives and sheaths. Here is a video from The Wild North’s YouTube channel featuring some of my Dad’s works. I’m very proud of my papa! Love you, Dah!
The fox cake is all gone. The little guy lasted almost 2 hours, which is funny because that’s about how long it took me to make him. It was a tad more difficult than the bunny cake. He turned out pretty much how I imagined. You can click over to my Eats board on Pinterest if you want to see his construction. Here is the sketch I had up on my fridge all week until I was able to make the cake on Saturday:

Happy Easter! I’ve been playing around with Instagram (now available for Android) and I pretty much LOVE it. Me and the furry kiddles had a lovely day yesterday. I made a bunny cake (carrot!) while they napped. Then we (okay, it was just me) colored some eggs. It was a tad experimental since I was using brown eggs (fresh from the farm, thanks Ronnie!). Then Mac and I made a Dunkin Donuts run and went for a few walks. He ran around the back yard all crazyfaced last night and subsequently got a bath. We slept like babies when it was all said and done. I have a few more eastery crafts to do today but for now I’m off to make some egg salad, (my favorite) and take Mac on a very long walk. This has been the best Easter ever and I have the BEST friends EVER. Love you guys.

{Scout had a rough week}
It’s almost the weekend and I am so ready! I have eastery projects planned for Saturday and only rest planned for Sunday (maybe a movie marathon). I’ll post pics of my projects if they aren’t a total mess. The dining room has been painted and I’ll let you see pics once everything is in place (soon). Happy weekend!

I’ve got a couple days off this week, which means I have decided to redecorate (art therapy)! Special thanks goes to Tom at Sherwin-Williams for clueing me into the Color Visualizer! It’s cooler than an 80′s robot (ok not THAT cool, but still). You can paint one of their images (drag and drop function) or upload your own picture and test drive your favorite colors. Amazing, I am without words (dramatic pause).
OK, I’m back with WORDS. I chose this really great color for my teeny tiny dining room called Peppery. The mister chose a terra cotta color at first but there was too much yellow in it for me. Peppery, the color I finally chose, is almost a cayenne (red) but not quite (I think – I have a hard time deciphering reds and oranges). Other colors I plan on pulling into the space are expresso (really dark brown) a creamy linen and some peacock (little accents). The advantage to redoing a small room is cost. Paint is cheap, and I can take my time adding the extras (as if my bank account would allow for anything speedier, ha!).
As a side note: I’ve stopped taking one of my meds due to side effects and went the herbal alternative route. Consequentially, it was a crappy week trying to sort it all out (hence the brief blogging hiatus). But I’m awesome now and ready to tape and paint and OBSESS about my tiny space along with devising ingenious methods to keep the pets from throwing up, chewing, clawing or shedding on any new items that come to live with me (us). Aren’t mini vacays THE BEST!?
What is with the Hangry image accompanying this post, you might ask? Actually nothing, I just like it and want it—it is going on the unofficial birthday registry – post-haste.
I spent most of today with a killer headache but I’m starting to recover and you know what I want to do? PAINT! No, not going to paint any more rooms (**walls sigh in relief**) for NOW (**walls whimper**). Not sure what I’m painting yet but I’m going to make a HUGE mess. I’m not making any special trips to the craft store, I just plan on using what’s available and see what happens. I’ve got watercolor, acrylics, paint pens and all manner of materials at home to paint on (literally, a closet full – oh the shame). It’s going to be a fun time!
