hello…love

I’m not much of a girly girl and I’ve never had any kind of wedding fantasy (a few nightmares, actually)… but this dress from BHLDN is amazing (Cascading Goddess Gown). There is a video showing how the dress flows as you walk… I would say I do to almost anything in this dress (wink).

creative business :: lauryn galloway photography

Is she not “Reese Witherspoon times INFINITY” adorable!? But, to be serious, Lauryn is quite talented and her website and blog are witty, honest, inspiring, and fun (just like her, I imagine!). I’m all about quality of light when it comes to photography and Lauryn makes that light work for her and, more importantly, her clients. Really beautiful shots. Be sure to visit her website and follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I promise you’ll be inspired! Just added her to my favorites page. YAY!

happily ever after

March 5th I attended the wedding of Beth and Adam in historic St. Augustine, FL. It was the most adorable event! The two 20-somethings are a perfect match and I felt honored to spend time with them on their most special day. The ceremony was held at The White Room Loft & Rooftop, it was a beautiful day with perfect weather. After the “I Do’s”  were uttered, the guests sipped mimosas and noshed on hors d’oeuvres until the buffet brunch was ready in the adjacent loft area; a lovely room flooded with light and exposed brick. The best man’s toast was probably the funniest moment, I really wish I had recorded it. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my digital camera – but I was able to snap some quick pics of the cake with my phone (3 tiers of cupcakes with a super cute topper!). I attempted to sneak a candid shot of the couple, but Adam caught me!

I hope they are having an awesome time enjoying their honeymoon (which I’m sure they are, because no matter where they are it is an awesome time!) As part of their gift, I put together special desk calendars for the bride and groom. The groom got the more masculine stripes motif and the bride the antique lace pattern in a different hue for each month. I’m thinking I’ll offer it soon as a free printable here on Creativitae.

oh deer!

Hi all! My brother, Joe, sent me this picture today. He lives up in the frozen tundra (aye). And apparently lost his cell phone somehow in his overflowing creek. Honestly, I know it does not look like it from the photo, but it is starting to thaw up there (hence the overflowing creek).

In contrast to my brother’s (ahem) snowy weekend shenanigans, I spent a lovely (and warm) time at the cutest wedding evah this past Saturday. I’ll post more on that later. In the meantime, here’s more pics from my bro. (I think I know how he lost the cell phone.)

found :: porridge papers

I’m quite sure I shouldn’t post while under the influence of cold medicine but isn’t this cool!? It’s Plantable Paper by Porridge Papers a Lincoln, Nebraska based papermill and letterpress company. I’m thinking baby announcements, wedding favors, christmas and mother’s day cards…lots of creative possibilities here. Check them out, meanwhile I’ll be consuming copious amounts of soup, reading my 3 newest books (more on those later!), knitting and…maybe getting some rest somewhere in between. Cheers!

what’s up :: design + inspiration

I’ve just submitted 8 designs to Minteds Holiday Spectacular photo card design challenge. I found out about it a week ago and, of course, waited until Tuesday to get my rear in gear (with today being the cut off date!). There are currently over 1300 submissions available for viewing and voting. I’m already looking forward to the next design challenge. (it’s greeting cards!)

In addition to the Minted challenges I am developing a line of digital announcements and invitations for Pingg (FREE E-vites and announcements). I’m such a busy bee, right? I discovered Pingg a few months ago and decided to go for it! And speaking of going for it…the blog face lift for June is complete and was inspired by CAKE! Wedding cake and birthday cake…ahem I’ll be 34 this month! Oh, AND there will be a new Post Project printable available this weekend (I promise). I’ll also throw in a desktop wallpaper or two (since I spaced those assignments in May).

BTW: I’ll be opening a second Etsy shop this Summer. I’m still waffling a bit on a few details but remain super motivated to get the ball rolling and rolling and…

blog crush :: eat drink chic

I’m excited to tell you about my latest blog crush: eat drink chic by Amy Moss. Does everything from Australia have to be so darn wonderful? I guess it does because I am in love with reading this style blog. Especially the DIY projects and darling found objects. The girl’s got style and a great eye (check out her surprise wedding and her window display!) Lahuvinit! Amy is a generous creative soul and I look forward to following her blog and feeling inspired by her beyond beautiful aesthetic.

dream :: sweet sweet june

feather1
It might be the weather or the dreamy aesthetic of feather love photography or maybe I’m just a softening up in my old age. (since the birthday is creeping up on me at the end of this month) one can never tell. But whatever it may be… it made me fall in love with this image. See more like this on feather love photography’s site and be sure to visit the blog (both are quite devine, along with the soundtrack)

Goods for Goodness Sake-Grand Opening

gfgs

{shop responsibly}

gfgs_badge1Please take a moment to visit a site that I think is a true inspiration. It’s not often that an online boutique like Goods for Goodness Sake (GFGS) comes along. I have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the GFGS site, and now the moment is here! 100% of the proceeds generated go to select charities (no joke!) Read the FAQ to find out what make this venue so special. I cannot do it proper justice here, explore the site, read about the charities, the contributing designers, you will be inspired, I promise.
